MVCA member, Invest Detroit Ventures, is thrilled to announce the addition of Cayse Llorens to its team of venture fund professionals. As senior associate, he will be supporting current portfolio companies while also identifying new investment opportunities among Michigan technology startup entrepreneurs across an array of industries.

“Cayse has a strong technology background and brings deep personal experience to this work,” said Patti Glaza, managing director, Invest Detroit Ventures. “We are extremely pleased to have him join our mission in supporting innovative ideas and diverse entrepreneurs in the state of Michigan.”

Most recently, Llorens was on the investment teams at Hyde Park Venture Partners and OCA Ventures in Chicago. With a background in software engineering and consulting, he has founded several tech companies including CelebTango, a live celebrity video chat platform. CelebTango was featured in the first group of companies admitted to 1871, the country’s largest center for technology and entrepreneurship. He is also the founder of the Chicago Machine Learning Venture Capital Summit, the largest VC summit in Chicago.

Cayse said, “With a combination of the emerging economy, strong local university systems, and year over year growth in the tech and venture spaces, Michigan has some of the country’s most exciting opportunities for early stage technology companies. I am humbled and excited to join Invest Detroit Ventures to accelerate the mission of serving local entrepreneurs and driving inclusive economic development.”

Llorens graduated Summa Cum Laude in computer engineering from the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign and is currently pursuing an MBA at Chicago Booth with concentrations in entrepreneurship, strategic management, and finance.
