Molly TheisMolly Theis officially joined the Michigan Venture Capital Association staff Monday, as the new Events and Program Manager for the Ann Arbor-based organization.  But Theis has been behind the scenes for MVCA’s largest and most prestigious event for two years, in her previous role as the Inn at St. John’s Executive Meetings and Events Manager.  “I had the opportunity to have MVCA as a client for the past two MVCA Annual Awards Dinners, so I understand the expectation for our events to be of high quality and value for our members,” Theis said.
Theis expects to meet or exceed those high standards as she plans the 2015 MVCA Annual Awards Dinner, as well as the 20+ events for the investor and entrepreneurial community the association hosts or sponsors each year.  “I enjoy the sense of accomplishment when successfully executing an event. It is very rewarding to know that I had a large part in the attendees enjoying their time during the event. Event planning is filled with many different components to create a successful event and being detail oriented, I enjoy being able to contribute to all aspects.”
Theis will also manage the MVCA Talent Programs, which members and their portfolio companies use to attract and retain talent at Michigan venture firms and startup companies.  “I’m excited to expand my skill set, working on the important programs that help build up the entrepreneurial community in Michigan.  I strongly believe in the mission of MVCA and I share the passion Maureen (Miller Brosnan, executive director of MVCA) and Emily (Heintz, MVCA Associate Director) have for building an ever-better organization for our members.”
